Tadahito Mochinaga (持永只仁) (?/?/1919 - 4/1/1999), also known as Tad Mochinaga, is a pioneer stop-motion animator in Japan. Having done many stop motion films/shorts in Japan, he is also best known as the animator for Rankin/Bass' "Animagic" specials/movies in the 1960s.
In the 1950s he spent at least three years in Shanghai, China, working on creating the short film Thank You, Kitty. He is perhaps the only artist of the era to have worked in both Chinese and Japanese industries.
