Taekwondo at the 2008 Summer Olympics

Taekwondo competitions at the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympics will be held from August 20 to August 23. The tournaments will be held at the Beijing Science and Technology University Gymnasium.

8 sets of medals will be awarded in the following events:
- -58kg Men
- 59-68kg Men
- 69-80kg Men
- +80kg Men
- -49kg Women
- 50-57kg Women
- 58-67kg Women
- +67kg Women
[edit] Competition Format
The taekwondo competition at the Olympic Games consists of a single elimination tournament with double repechage for 3rd place. The double repechage shall be conducted among all contestants who lost to the two finalists.

Each NOC can enter 2 men and 2 women athletes, but only 1 per weight class. The places will be allocated as follows:
