[edit] General
Tea Games, established in 2003, located at http://www.teagames.com, is a popular website where users can play free flash games. There are currently more than 40 free games available. It is most known for its "Funky Truck" game series, but also houses other simple yet addictive games, such as the Eagle Eye series, Blueprint, and the BMX Backflip series. The site is constanly being updated with new games, giving good reason for users to check back daily.
[edit] Style Of Games
Tea Games' games are stereotypically side-scrolling games using soft colours and are very easily recognisable from their colour schemes.
It is speculated whether the site changed owners late in 2006 due to its game style change which later resembled rather those of mainstream flash gaming sites with content of lowered quality and originality.
[edit] Funky Truck Series
As of February 2007, the series includes "Funky Truck", "Funky Truck 4WD", "Funky Truck 3", and "Funky Truck Arizona". In each game the player is given control over a large truck and is set with the task of driving over large hills and ramps without flipping to ultimately reach the goal at the end of the course. In the original game the truck sports a vibrant yellow color, but in the second and third installments the truck has been painted a mellow red. The latest installment has returned to its heritage, once again displaying a proud yellow paint on the player's car.
[edit] Eagle Eye Series
As of February 2007, the series includes "Eagle Eye" and "Eagle Eye 2". The two are very similar, the chief difference being improved graphics in v2 and a lack of progression through stages. Players are free to play any challenge they choose. Also gone is the faceless robinhood like charachter, replaced by a stylish dark-haired elf. In both games the player controls the aim of a bow via the movement of their mouse, and fire by clicking the left mouse button. Lighter or heavier arrows may be selected via a click on the bottom of the screen.
[edit] Blueprint
Blueprint is a refreshing change from TeaGames recurring theme of sports games. The goal of the game is to transport a small metal ball from one part of the screen from another. This is done by moving around various ramps, conveyors, tubes, and springs on a large blue grid. Once 12 tries result in a loss on one level, the game is over. A total of 28 levels currently exist, but more are occasionally added.
[edit] BMX Backflips series
As of February 2007, the series includes "BMX Backflips", "BMX Ghost", "BMX Backflips 2", "BMX Star", and "BMX Highlands". In all games the player is given control over a person on a BMX bicycle. The games vary greatly from each other, some pitting players against their previous times, in the form of a ghost. Others challenge the players to goals on each level, such as "Do a single backflip over the gap". One thing the games all have in common are their easiness to pick up. Players simply press the up arrow key to accelarate, the down arrow key to brake, and the right and left arrow keys to lean the corresponding way. Levels are occasionally added to some of the games.
