Team Silent
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Team Silent is the development team responsible for the Silent Hill franchise for developer/publisher Konami, with the exception of the upcoming Silent Hill: 0rigins for the PlayStation Portable. Contrary to earlier belief they did not even contribute to the storyline. (Explained by William Oretel) Akira Yamaoka, the series' musical composer and producer for Silent Hill 4: The Room, is also a part of Team Silent. As of December 2006, the team is believed to be working on the still to be announced Silent Hill 5 for a currently unspecified next-gen console(s), presumably following those of the franchise's earlier platforms. Although not officially confirmed by Konami, the project's chief designer Masashi Tsuboyama and Akira Yamaoka have confirmed that the title is in production.
On May 9, 2006, Konami announced that a prequel to Silent Hill, 0rigins, would be the first installment in the series not to be developed directly by Team Silent and instead have replaced the responsibilities to Climax Studios. Team Silent had also played a major production role for the film adaptation of Silent Hill by watching and approving specific aspects of the movie throughout its production.
