The word techalites is a coinage created by Daniel Briant. The word is an amalgamation and condensation of "Technology" and "Neophytes", with the second part bastardised into a form more easily spelled and pronounced.

techalites has no formal definintion, but a loose translation might be "Technology Followers" or "Technology Fanatics", or possibly "Technology Geeks".
