Hey Jon! This will be our discussion page for your adoption. Ask any questions you want by placing a question in it's own section, by titling the section using the format ==title here==, and then putting the question right below it. Please sign using four tildes (~~~~). Please don't erase answered sections, as I would like to keep them. If this page becomes big, I'll archive some of it. So that you know when I answer your questions, please hit the "watch" button that's to the right of the "edit this page" button at the top. Whenever the page is updated, it will appear in your watchlist. --TeckWiz ParlateContribs@ 22:10, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] The Basics
I don't know if you've read it yet, but some of the basic things can be found here. Feel free to ask me about any of it or to ask me about anything else. --TeckWiz ParlateContribs@ 22:14, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] School Article
First, thank you for adopting me!
Second, I thought I'd ask if it would be okay to make an article about my school on Wikipedia. A lot of kids at our school use it and having it on wikipedia would make it a little more convenient than remembering the big, long URL. Also, I noticed (well it appeared so) that other high schools have one as well. Just wanted to check with you!

- Well, instead of remembering the really long name, you could just add it to favorites. Unless your high school is notable, the article probably doesn't belong here, and if created, would probably be deleted. There's actually a current guideline proposal for schools, which may be helpful to fetermine if it notable. It's located here. Also, in your signature, you have to take the "Special:" out and replace it with User:, so it looks like this: User:TeckWiz/Adopt/Users/Jon1992 . --TeckWiz ParlateContribs@ 23:55, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks a lot! And I tried that and I didn't think it worked... I'll try again!
[edit] Portals
Why don't certain individual authors have a portal? ::Jon1992AdoptQmyTalk 07:42, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
- The author may be not that notable. Also, some authors may not have a portal, but their books do (ex. JK Rowling's Books are in the Harry Potter Portal. --TeckWiz ParlateContribs@ 15:28, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Contributing
I couldn't find a help file on how to Contribute a new article. Though, it's quite possible I'm just too dense to see it. ::Jon1992AdoptQmyTalk 03:21, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
