G'day everyone!
I have been around since January 2006 although I have been using Wikipedia for a good deal longer. So I guess, I can no longer lay claim to being a newbie. As of April 2007 I have a relatively modest edit count of around 900 and I would like to attribute this to the fact I have a life, but this would infact be a blatant lie. What I do appreciate though, is the fact that with this project I can contribute as little or as much as I feel like. Some months can be quite prolific for me, and others I will just stick to keeping an eye on my watchlist. I am a university student has an (probably unhealthy) interest in politics and especially Victorian politics. I have created a few articles on Victorian politicians as well as most of the districts of the Victorian Legislative Assembly. There is still much work that needs to be done though, and this will remain my primary focus for the time being. Politically I am what we call in Australia a small-l liberal. I believe in individual freedom in both economic and social policy and despite having some moderate positions on some social issues I am a proud member of the centre-right Liberal Party of Australia and have been for several years now. Indeed the last few months under the leadership of Ted Baillieu have been very exciting, returning the party in Victorian to its traditional small-l liberal position (as it was under another hero of mine, Rupert Hamer) although the recent election loss was of course for me, very disappointing. I am interested in Star Trek (especially Deep Space Nine and Voyager), Motorsport, Cricket and Soccer and I variously edit in these areas too.
