Telesurgery

Telesurgery enables surgeons to perform surgical procedures over a distance. In other words, this novel technology is an application of telemedicine in the field of surgery. Technologies like Virtual Reality, 3D Simulations, Haptics and broadband communications are technologies associated with telesurgery. Telesurgery can be classified in three branches namely Telementoring, Teleproctoring and Telerobotics (or remote surgery).
