Dbinder, I do not know why you tried to removed this page, but please discuss here first in the future and draw a consensus before taking such drastic action. This is a stub that can be expanded to be quite a lengthy article with the right time put in. I myself will contribute more to this particular page when I have time to do so. If you are mainly concerned with consolidating articles, please review WP:SIZE and note that the CX article is already nearing 40kbs in length. Thanks! Parnell88 20:58, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
- The point is that it shouldn't be expanded into a long article. It is non-notable in itself. The only FF program articles that have stayed are a few of the multi-airline ones and AAdvantage (since it was the first). If you look at articles on other programs, you'll see there's plenty of consensus to remove them. DB (talk) 21:31, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
- The fact that you believe FF programs to be "non-notable" is purely your own POV and I fail to find the "consensus" that you speak of. In fact please see WP:AIRLINES which says, Membership clubs and frequent flyer program participation should be listed in the "Airline infobox" and the programs should have their own articles if they are large or well known (emphasis added). I would say both of the CX programs are large and well-known with hundreds of thousands of participants worldwide, let alone the millions of CX passengers, employees and others who have seen the ads who also know of these programs. Interestingly, you have a link to this page on your own user page but have apparently overlooked this. I believe a fair compromise is that if you can get the wikiproject page to change the guideline then we can consider merging these pages with the main airline article. Otherwise please leave these programs alone as what you are doing seems contrary to the actual expressed consensus. Parnell88 22:31, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
- Please note that that the airlines wikiproject guidelines state that these programs should have their own articles. This is the forum for real consensus among the community and any discussion of removing these articles should be made there first, not scattered among the individual pages. Since the Marco Polo Club is becoming the FFP for both CX and KA (Dragonair), I don't think it is a good idea to merge this page with Cathay's page.Ernestnywang 00:26, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
