The Dirty Shame
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Dirty Shame was a band created by Detroit rocker Tyler Spencer, famously a member of The Wildbunch (later Electric Six) as Jackson Pounder or Dick Valentine.
The Dirty Shame had only one album release. This was in 2000 and was entitled Smog Cutter Love Story. It was published under Swordfish Records and the cover was designed by Ballistic Design.
The Dirty Shame toured around the time of the album release but disbanded. Tyler Spencer returned to The Wildbunch. They recorded the seminal single "Danger! High Voltage" in 2001 before breaking the UK market in 2003 as Electric Six.
One of the tracks from the album, "Vengeance and Fashion" appeared on Electric Six's debut album Fire.
A second album was at demo stage but wasn't completed due to the signing of Electric Six to record label 'XL recordings'. This second album would have included tracks 'Brand Name Recognition', 'Transatlantic Flight', 'Future Girls' and the original version of 'Electric Demons (In Love)' which would later appear on Fire, Electric Six's 1st album.
