The Masseuse is a very unusual pornographic film, made in 1990 and starring Randy Spears and Hyapatia Lee. In the film, Spears is kind of an everyman named Jim Mitchell. He goes to a massage parlor where Lee is a masseuse who gives Spears a slow handjob. He falls in love with her, even though the only relationship between the two of them is that one masturbatory act.
He follows her home and she gets upset and tells him to go away, which is a very unusual ending for a porn film (but very realistic in terms of what would happen in real life).
The film won numerous awards in the 1990 Adult Video News, including a Best Actor Award for Spears.
The movie was remade pretty much scene for scene in 2004 with Jenna Jameson and Justin Sterling in the starring roles, and again won many AVN Awards. Both films were directed by Paul Thomas.
