[edit] History
The band released their first album, Fused Together in Revolving Doors, in 2002, and it saw much success in the underground metal community with songs such as "Nihilist," "Sixteen Bit Fingerprint," and "Dreaming in Dog Years." The title of this album is a reference to the 1942 Cocoanut Grove nightclub fire in Boston, the deadliest nightclub fire in American history.
The Red Chord's sophomore album, Clients, was released in 2005 with much anticipation and has been very successful. The album's first single release, "Antman," was met with some hesitation as it does not, according to many fans, best represent the album. The Red Chord released a re-issue of Clients with bonus tracks in mid-2006.
The Red Chord has been touring and writing for a new release due in 2007.
[edit] Side projects
- Mike "Gunface" McKenzie and Greg Weeks play in a melodic death metal side-project named Beyond the Sixth Seal. The group disbanded in 2002 but later reformed in 2006 as a studio project.[1]
- McKenzie and Weeks are also in a doom metal band called Stomach Earth.
- Vocalist Guy Kozowyk has recently launched his own record label called Black Market Activities. The label releases music from various hardcore and grindcore acts including Ed Gein, Animosity, and From a Second Story Window. Clients was also released on this label.
