The Sherwood Ring begins with orphan Peggy Graham's train ride in Upper New York, to see her great uncle, who is obsessed with recreating a Revolutionary War-time ball. Later in the book, Peggy meets her ghostly Revolutionary ancestors who tell her the remarkable story of their wartime adventures and romantic escapades. The ghosts themselves are leading her in a romance of her own...
