The Von Ghouls

"The Von Ghouls" was the name of the first musical group to offer animated cartoon episodes online in November 1999. Based around a band of creepy garage punk musicians in a camper van with a reverent 70s Saturday morning feel, the series was originally produced for an IPO-hopeful web portal company and was the first internet cartoon to include original songs. After delivering two humorous episodes, the parent company went insolvent and the episodes reverted to the artist who has offered them online for free ever since.
In 2000, a live band of the same name was formed, performing original garage punk material around the greater NYC area. In 2006 with a reformed line up, the Von Ghouls, also spelled "Vonghouls" released "Can You Deal With Nothing", a four song vinyl-only EP on Zodiac Records.
