The Vortex

The Vortex is a LAN gaming center located just outside of West Palm Beach, Florida. Founded by Robert Wheeler in August of 2005.
The location encompassed a 1,200 SqFt. facility with 15 computers, 5 HDTV's, Xbox, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, Nintendo GameCube. With a T-1 high-speed internet connection, this LAN center provides internet cafe atmosphere and services as well. With weekly LAN parties, tournaments and scheduled events.
The games menu has over 50 different PC and console games, including industry favorites like Counter-Strike, Battlefield 2142, Battlefield 2, Gears of War, World of Warcraft and Super Smash Bros. Melee.

The Vortex has grown in popularity on the Florida video gaming scene as one of the best venues for tournaments for games such as Counter-Strike: Source, Counter-Strike 1.6, and Super Smash Brothers Melee, among others. Gamers from all over the state of Florida compete for money and bragging rights on the very contested matches hosted at The Vortex.
