The X Factor series 4 is due to be broadcast from August to December 2007. Auditions are due to take place in and around April and May in the cities of London, Birmingham, Cardiff, Glasgow, Manchester and Belfast. On 7 March 2007, ITV revealed that the show's fourth run would see some major changes to the format for the first time since the show began in 2004.
Following the axing of presenter Kate Thornton it was announced on 29 March 2007, that British TV presenter and DJ Dermot O'Leary will present the show.[1]
Due to Louis Walsh not returning for series 4, it has been announced that Dannii Minogue and Sinitta will be the two new judges. These are merely speculations at this time. On 4 April, it was reveled that Dannii Minogue will be one of the new judges. [2] It was also revealed that a new fourth category will be introduced to the show, which would result in a fourth new judge also being added to the panel, and thus taking the panel up to four. Producers have confirmed that that the new category will be singers between the age of 14 and 25, and that they will be divided into two separate groups consisting of males and females, in turn creating two separate categories. Application forms have since been modified and now ask applicants to be 14 years of age by 1 April 2007.[1]
