[edit] History
Tommy Sullivan was born in Kilkenny, Ireland in 1743. He grews up as a fast talker street urchin, learning to fight for scraps of food. Once grown, he becames the Kilkenny Bare-knuckles champ, taking on all-comers. In 1788, while working as a prizefighter in Dublin, Ireland, Sully refused to take a dive in a fight against the Dublin champion as instructed by the fight's promoter. This caused the promoter to have him murdered. Sullivan became Immortal and was found by Immortal Rory Coulhon, who becames his teacher. In the 1790s, after finishing his training, Sully murdered the fight promoter before taking ship to the United States, the land of opportunity. There, in San Francisco, he befriended Duncan MacLeod. In 1891 Sully convinced Duncan MacLeod into a bare-knuckles match for a $1000 prize money. The Highlander won the match, but when the place was raided, the promoter claimed he didn't have to pay Tommy the money. Tommy, then, killed the promoter and split the money with Duncan, who was unaware of what his friend has done to obtain their winnings. Sully continued to be connected with boxing through all his life. He believed strongly in the fairness of the game and often stateted that he wasn't a bad person and had never killed anyone… who didn't deserved it. He saw the world in terms of black and white, and not in shades of gray. One was either innocent or guilty of a crime… there was no in-between. In the mid-1980s, Sully started to operate at Clancy's Gym in St. Louis, Missouri where he trained young boxing talent. On January 1994, Sullivan went on the road to Seacouver to show off his latest boxer, George Belcher, and to get his old friend Duncan to finance the fighter in his bid for a championship. George started to train at Charlie DeSalvo's dojo. At the same time, Tommy became enamored of Iris Lange, a waitress at a local sports bar and not nowing how to woo her, started taking lessons from Charlie. When he was set up and saw George and Iris in a compromising embrace, he sluged his boxer and upon learning that a promoter named Coleman was using Iris to separate George from Sully in order to become George's promoter, Sully killed Coleman. But when George also turned up dead, MacLeod confronted Sully. In Sully's point of view, both got what they had deserved. Duncan decided he should kill his friend as he could no longer turn a blind eye to Sully's idea of justice. On January 31, 1994, Thomas Sullivan lost his last fight and his head to Duncan MacLeod. MacLeod showed visible remorse for killing his old friend, but nonethless believed he had done the right thing.
