Timberlane Regional Performing Arts Center
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Timberlane Regional Performing Arts Center, located in Plaistow, New Hampshire, is the home of the performing arts program for the Timberlane Regional School District.
Completed in the fall of 2002, the Performing Arts Center provides both large and small performance venues as well as classrooms, practice rooms, a Midi lab, and set construction areas. Though the Performing Arts Center, or PAC (pronounced 'pack') as the locals have dubbed it, is primarily the home of the performing arts programs of the Timberlane Regional High School and Middle School, it is fast becoming an area landmark for high quality performances.

[edit] Name Mistakes
Many people tend to mistakenly call this building the 'PAC Center,' which causes great distress amongst the student body due to this being translated as "Performing Arts Center Center."
[edit] Notable Performances
At the PAC over the years, there have been many notable performances in music and especially drama. Some of the plays that have been put on there include:
The Laramie Project
You Can't Take it With You
The Crucible
Our Town
Elephant Man
[edit] Controversy
The PAC cost the district millions of dollars to build, and thus has been the target of much controversy from people in the area. Some people point to the obvious need for more direct work on the school as a point of contention against the building of the PAC.
Also, some students of the school believe that they are given unfair rights within the PAC because they are not music students. Reports from some students say that teachers in the PAC have kicked them out because they did not have any connection to the music department. Due to the fact that the PAC was built from parents' tax dollars, some students feel that this treatment is unjust.
