Tommy Armour III (born October 8, 1959) is a professional golfer on the PGA Tour. He first joined the PGA Tour in 1981 at the age of 21. He is considered to be a great ball striker, and much of his success depends on how well he putts. He has two career PGA Tour victories, winning the 1990 Phoenix Open and the 2003 Valero Texas Open. He currently holds the scoring record for best overall score on 72 holes (254), which he set during his Valero Texas Open victory in 2003. He also won the 1983 Mexican Open. He is the grandson of Tommy Armour. He was injured towards the end of 2006, including having to withdraw from Q School, but has a good 2007 season so far, 64th in the FedEx Cup standings, highlighted with a 4th at the Shell Houston Open, earning himself his biggest paycheck ($264,000) since 2004.
