Toque Profundo was a Rock En Español Type band from the Dominican Republic In The late 1980's and 1990's. As a Spanish country it sang in Spanish and most of the song were related to their Native Country some of these are "El Gevito" and "mi Pais". Everything Started in 1989 when Toque Profundo Participated in the Event "Olympiadas Rock"(English: Rock Olympics). The Were The Best out Of 15 participating bands of the Dominican Republic Country. the Band Slowly gained Experienced and gained acceptance of The Small Dominican Rock Society.
In 1992 they Released The 1st Independent Album named "Sueños Y Pesadillas Del 3er Mundo"(Dreams and Nightmares of The 3rd World). This Was the first CD ever to That Date to be released independently by their own financial means.
The CD Right away became a Classic And Best Seller in The Dominican Rock History. Songs like "El Gevito", "Amigo", and "Mi Pais" Were hits In The Dominican Radio shortly after their album release.
That Same Year they Are Nominated as the "Best Rock Group" In the Cassandra Awards a Similar Dominican version of The Grammy Awards. They Also participated in the international event at Alto De Chavon "Rock Sobre Las Piedras" Show.
Towards 1993 the young group was chosen by Dominicans to represent them in The International Festival "Festival De Benidorm" In Spain With the Song "Dios Salve Al Viajero"(God Save The Traveler). In 1996 they Released the 2nd independent album named "Moneda"(Coins and/or Money). Bigger Success Resulted from This Second Album. Songs Like "Llorar", "Ramona" and the long waited "Dios Salbve Al Viajero" All became Top #1 In Dominican radio Stations. This Album is considered one of the Classics Of Dominican Rock and at the same time it sparked the Bands Evolution.
In 1999 They Released The 3rd Album "Cría Cuervo" Which Became The Most Successful one of their career to that Date. Singles like "Botas Negras", "Liberate", and "noche Sin Luna" too became top #1. "Noche Sin Luna" later became the longest song to be in the top #1 list in the Dominican Republic Radio Sations. "Cria Cuervo" Like the other two albums was a Independent Album which showed the musical growth of the band and the strong fan base they had in the country and Latin America.
In 2002 They Release the 4th album named "Magia". International Critics often said it was their Best composed/made album. The Song "El Viaje" and "Angel Ciego" too climb The Top Position of Radio Stations in the country for several weeks. This Last Album involves Punk, Afro, alternative, and fusions of Guitar braking the barrier of all of the Albums released before.
