Tordesillas
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Tordesillas is a village and municipality in the province of Valladolid, part of the autonomous community of Castile-Leon in central Spain.
[edit] History

It was the site where the most famous Treaty of Tordesillas was concluded on 7 June 1494 between Spain and Portugal that divided the globe between the two kingdoms for purposes of colonisation under the principle of terra nullius.
It is also where the Spanish Queen Joanna of Castille was kept for the final years of her life because of her derangement, which earned her the name Juana la Loca 'the mad'.
