Tough All Over is an album by American country music artist Gary Allan. It was released on October 11, 2005 on the MCA Nashville label. "Nickajack Cave" is about Johnny Cash's personal story of crawling into a cave and lying down to die, only to find deliverance in the eyes of the Lord, and have the power to get back on his feet and roll on with his life. It is also a reference to the duet "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry" that Johnny Cash did with No-Wave bands The Bad Seeds/ The Birthday Party singer Nick Cave. Johnny also covered Cave's "The Mercy Seat". Many of the songs are said to be influenced by the pain Gary Allan felt after the loss of his wife in 2004.
