Deville's RfA
![]() |
Hello, TBC, and thank you for the support on my recent RfA. The final tally was 72/1/0, and I have now been entrusted with the mop. I'll be tentative with the new buttons for a while, and certainly welcome any and all feedback on how I might be able to use them to help the project. All the best, and thanks again! — Deville (Talk) 03:27, 25 August 2006 (UTC) |

List of beat 'em ups undeletion request
I have nominated List of beat 'em ups to be undeleted, under the reasoning that it is not redundant to the category; it contains many games which are not covered by the category, and may never be able to be covered by it. In addition, the list can do more than the category. It can put date, developer, release date, system, et al., useful especially for articles that would be difficult to create an article for. I hope that you will vote on this and hopefully support its undeletion, on the basis that it does something that makes it not redundant to the category. Re: WikiProject Asian American Culture and History
If the goal of WikiProject Asian American Culture and History is to expand and improve all articles related to Asian Amercans, wouldn't the title WikiProject Asian Americans or something similar to that be better?--TBCTaLk?!? 22:20, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
- Thank you for your suggestion. The project was listed as "WP: Asian Americans" in the edit summary but "WP: Asian American Culture and History" on the proposed Wikiprojects list. I changed it to the former. Thanks again, (^'-')^ Covington 22:43, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
Winhunter's RfA thanks
Hi Tree_Biting_Conspiracy, thank you for supporting me in my RfA, which was closed as successful today with a finaly tally of (56/0/3). I will be very careful at first to avoid any mistakes. Please feel free to leave a message in my talk page if you have any comments/suggestions about me in the future. Once again, thank you! --WinHunter (talk) 09:14, 4 September 2006 (UTC) |
Ifti Elahi article
Thank you for your time spent on my article. Please do not delete this article as it is not a personal rant. It is incomplete at this stage and it consists only of interviews from Kader Hashemite and Ifti Elahi. I know it needsto be cleaned up but if you observe the quotation marks, you can see that these are the interviews of both Kader AND Ifti and not the rant of the writer. Please give me the benefit of the doubt to improve the structure of the article and rescue it from deletion. Thank you.
Re:Question on S.Irwin archive2
That discussion was archived as it had been answered and the request was already available in the article.
The Steve Irwin article talk page was recieving edits at one stage of 2 or 3 per minute, the article three times that mostly vandalism/tributes. When I archived information I first warned those that were monitioring the page about my intention to archive discussion that appeared to be completed 30 minutes later I archived, another 50 edits had occured on the talk and over 100 had occured in the article. When I archived I said that if a discussion had removed in error to please return it to the page.
This has been an exceptional occurance that called for quick responses to keep the pages accessable. As the volume of edits has started to decline the necessity for archiving is also declining. Gnangarra 06:23, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

Hi TBC :) Thanks very much for those great Devil Horns you left me on my talkpage. While I hardly ever laugh out loud, you did make me chuckle, which means your ackward attempt at comedy passed my standards ;)

Fair use images in portals
Hi, I saw you removed the image from Portal:Film/Selected article September 2006. I left a comment regarding that at Wikipedia talk:Fair use if you'd like to comment on it. - Bobet 11:17, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
I saw you also removed the image from the same article for the Narnia portal. Thanks for the heads-up, I was unaware of that portion of the rule. However, I think a discussion about FU images on Portals (since they are, in a sense, mini-Main pages) should be considered. --Fbv65edel / ☑t / ☛c || 23:36, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
Wikiproject
Hey. I saw that you're on the WikiProject board, or something of that nature. Do you think The Amazing Race deserves a Wikiproject. It has about 20 pages (seasons, main, trivia, host, other version). If so please reply on this page, not mine, so I know whether to create it or not. TeckWiz is 12 yrs oldTalkContribs# of Edits 19:04, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

You considering accepting adminship now?
Hi TBC. Every once in a while, I notice you around Wikipedia. While the bright signatures are occasionally the cause, it's usually because you've been doing a good job at something. Only in the last few hours, I ran into several edit conflicts caused by you on afds. ([2] [3].) I wondered why you weren't an admin, so I searched for Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Tree Biting Conspiracy, and found that you declared you wouldn't accept until you had reached the 10k edits milestone. Now that you have reached 10,000, are you going to reconsider? I'm sure you'd get quite a pile of supports as long as you provided good answers to questions 1, 2, and 3, and the fact that you're a VandalProof moderator is likely to help too. Any thoughts? Picaroon9288 03:22, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
- I can't tell whether you're overly modest, or going for 0 opposes! :D Anyways, you have support from me when you decide to go ahead. Happy editing 'til then. Picaroon9288 03:33, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
deleting
When setting up an article for deletion you have to fill in the discussion page, without that you're not giving a rhyme or reason for your nomination, much like with peer reviews you have to follow the proceedure or nothing's going to happen. Janizary 03:50, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
- Sorry, I was working on the AfD nomination, but I got involved in another discussion and seemed to have forgotten about it. I'm currently finishing it up, so I'll be adding back Afd1 template soon.--TBCTaLk?!? 03:54, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
Hoaxes and speedy deletion
Just a comment for something you said in the deletion discussion for Lego Knight's Kingdom. Hoaxes meet WP:VAND, so I believe they are speedy deletable as vandalism. eaolson 03:55, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

Belated thanks
Thank you for participating in my RfA. Consensus to promote was reached, and I am now an administrator. I'll be using the tools cautiously at first, and everyone should feel welcome to peer over my shoulder and make sure I'm not doing anything foolish. --RobthTalk 04:03, 17 September 2006 (UTC)
The Palace Of Deceit: Dragon's Plight
Great suggestion. Why didn't I think of that? You just proved why having multiple editors is such an advantage. I'm really not sure whether or not it would be appropriate for me to withdraw and execute a merge. Do you have any thoughts on that? Erechtheus 06:01, 17 September 2006 (UTC)

I agree with the redirect. However the author is a mite touchy on things like that, so I felt it better to get a consensus in this instance than simply being bold. Fiddle Faddle 09:54, 17 September 2006 (UTC)
