[edit] History of Triega
[edit] 2004
Triega formed in the summer of 2004 with Darragh J. Glennon, Darren McConville and Ricky Byrne meeting for a jam . Each member had previous experiences playing in bands and shared a common musical interest. Within a month they had booked their first gig after writing many original songs. For much of this year they honed their craft playing numerous local gigs with bands such as The Blizzards, Leanne Harte, The Pale and many more acts.
[edit] 2005
After gathering experience on the live stage Triega entered the studio to record their first four track E.P. including the songs 'Circuit Breaker' and 'Never Lie'. This was released locally in Westmeath in March 2005 and sold out almost instantly. The band shared the stage with bands such as Foster and Allen and Director. Triega gigged more extensively around Ireland in this year and headlined their first event.
[edit] 2006
The band opened the year performing a headline gig in Mullingar and entered the studio to re-record 'Circuit Breaker' and an instrumental titled '7:12'. Triega took a break from gigging after this to develop the many songs they had written. During this time Darragh J. Glennon contracted strepthroat and this severely halted the band's momentum. Internal problems began to grow but they were overcame and Triega took back to the stage in September to open for Director and this stands as the band's finest performance to date. This performance gained them interest from the music industry in the U.K. and the band booked a small tour of Ireland in preparation of 2007.
[edit] Departure
Due to personal problems Darragh J. Glennon Left the band in November and the remaining dates of Triega's tour were cancelled. The remaining members continued looking to recruit new members.
[edit] 2007
[edit] Addition
Triega recruited guitarist Darragh Mooney to join the ranks and the revitalized band continued search for a vocalist.
[edit] Return
Darragh J. Glennon returned to the band in February and the newly reformed four-piece booked a warm-up and comeback gig. They are optimistic and planning to record in 2007.
