Samurai X: Trust and Samurai X: Betrayal, known in Japan as Tsuiokuhen (追憶編 Recollection?) is the first OVA series of the anime series Rurouni Kenshin and is set during the downfall of the Tokugawa shogunate.

Telling the story of Kenshin's as a child to his early adulthood. The OVA tells the life of Kenshin starting with his tragic childhood, becoming Hitokiri Battousai and meeting his first wife, Tomoe Yukishiro. Kenshin is nine years old at the start of the OVA and eighteen by the end. The OVA is set during the last years of the Bakumatsu up to the start of the Boshin War.
