As the Rangers are testing the Booster Fuel on their Automobile Arsenals, Divatox plots to steal it. The Torch Tiger monster uses the Booster fuel to power up his fire-breathing powers. Meanwhile, Bulk and Skull get jobs as Fire Spotters in the forest.

Divatox awaits the arrival of Goldgoyle, the most destructive monster in the galaxy due to his ability to gather energy and turn it into a force of destructive power to wield as his own. She challenges him to prove his claim of being the strongest by eliminating the Power Rangers completely. He agrees.
Meanwhile Justin is not a happy camper, even when he should be. His father has acquired a new job, but it will mean moving out of Angel Grove, forcing Justin to choose between his family and remaining with the Turbo Rangers. The Rangers are called to the Power Chamber, where Dimitria informs them of Goldgoyle. In battle with the gigantic creature, the Rescue Megazord takes a pounding that eventually forces T.J. to self destruct it and bail with the Rangers, hoping the explosion will weaken Goldgoyle. They switch to the Turbo Megazord and try the Turbo Sword and spin dash attack, but it fails. Goldgoyle then blasts the Megazord into oblivion.
The Rangers emerge from the damaged Megazord and come up with another strategy, T.J. summons Lightning Cruiser and takes off with the Turbo R.A.M on self-destruct; he deposits it in Goldgoyle's mouth and the resulting internal explosion obliterates the monster. The Rangers celebrate, but mourn the destruction of the Zords. They then teleport back to the Power Chamber, but are spotted by a patrolling Elgar and Rygog. The two follow the teleportation streaks straight back to the Power Chamber's location in the mountains.
The Rangers learn that Zordon's home world of Eltar is under attack, and that he is in grave danger, Dimitra and the Blue Senturion inform them that they must travel to Eltar and deal with the invading forces, the Rangers bid the two farewell, but the minute Dimitria and the Senturion depart, Divatox attacks the Chamber with a full legion of Pirantatrons. The Rangers make their final stand and pour out of the Chamber doors to hold the army off (end of part 1), and part 2 starts with a lengthy battle, but they are eventually forced back inside, helpless to prevent the attempted assistance from the vehicles Lightning Cruiser and Storm Charger from backfiring, resulting in their capture.
Divatox finds another way in eventually, and the Rangers are only permitted a couple of minutes to recover from the first wave. The Piranatrons storm the Chamber roof and blast their way in whilst others use a battering ram to burst open the main doors. As the Rangers battle the Piranatrons from the front, the troops on the roof burst in from the top, the Power Chamber bursts and burns around them as Elgar slips past the fighting and smashes Dimitria and Zordon's power tube with a well aimed hurtle of a hammer, preventing either from ever returning to Earth. He plants explosives on the Chamber walls and promptly makes his exit in time as Divatox pulls the trigger on a detonator. The Chamber's exterior erupts in flames, the destruction total.
Divatox scrambles the Piranatrons for signs of the Turbo Rangers in the debris, but are suddenly encountered by an ominous projection of a humanoid face insisting that they return to the Cimmerian Planet immediately, as Eltar has been conquered and Zordon has been captured. Divatox refuses, claiming victory over the Power Rangers and Earth, the humanoid stresses that Dark Specter will not be pleased. Divatox suddenly changes her mind for fear of incurring Spectre's possible wrath and agrees to leave Earth for now, already suspecting the Rangers are still alive, she issues a warning that she will be back. Once she departs, the Rangers and Alpha emerge from hiding. With the Power Chamber destroyed and Eltar conquered, the Rangers are then stripped of their Turbo powers.
Having overheard Divatox's summons, the Rangers decide to pursue her and rescue Zordon, they break into a nearby NASADA space port with Justin providing distractions for the port security, and make their way to a nearby shuttle, Justin eventually makes his own way to the control center and tries to convince the NASADA authorities to let the Rangers use the shuttle, upon mentioning who wants to use the shuttle, the administrator permits it, but Justin decides not to go with his friends as they enter the shuttle and prepare for takeoff. He tells the Rangers over the com-link that he will be staying with his father. Outside the spaceport, Justin looks on as his former comrades depart Earth in search of their mentor, as the credits roll "TO BE CONTINUED NEXT SEASON... POWER RANGERS IN SPACE".
