TV Newser
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
TV Newser is an industry "ticker" blog covering daily developments in American television news industry. It is followed by a fair number of media executives and top talent, and is maintained by Towson University student Brian Stelter. At a January 2006 luncheon of the American Society of Newspaper Editors, the keynote speaker, "NBC Nightly News" anchor Brian Williams, took a moment to point out Stelter to the guests, noting that in an age of new media, TVNewser was a "must-read for anyone in network and cable news."[1]

[edit] Industry Response and Wider Influence
- "[TVNewser] is the closest thing to the bible of what's going on in our industry, but's a little disconcerting knowing that the main pulse of your industry is being taken by someone who cannot legally take a drink." - "NBC Nightly News" anchor Brian Williams, to USA Today.[2]
- "[Reading TVNewser] makes me feel like I'm in the middle of a cocktail party of all people who know what's going on in my business. We're all kind of chewing the fat, saying, 'Oh, no, I think this is true' and someone else saying, 'No, no, this is true.' " - CNN "American Morning" anchor Miles O'Brien.[3]
- "[Stelter] is used as much as most reporters. They're given tips and they have to decide, 'Why am I getting this information, is it accurate and what's the context?' I think he has been very good at that." - MSNBC Chief Dan Abrams.[4]
