Umar Ibn Ivan Lee
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Umar Lee is an American Muslim, political commentator, columnist, boxing analyst, and author of Raging Wanderer in America. Umar Lee is, in his own words, "no fan of liberals, conservatives, animal-rights nuts, so-called hipsters, armchair jihadists, anti-Semites, effete men, manly women, spoiled kids, loose parents, the politically correct, “progressive Muslims”, rednecks, golfers, bad drivers, racists, union-busters, food Stalinists, and more."
Umar Lee operates a popular, yet often controversial, blog in which he discusses current cultural and social issues. He also authors a political column in the St. Louis-based ArchCity Chronicle.
Lee's unique style of composition, wide-ranging knowledge and refreshing, better said, revealing insight, has not been passed unnoticed. S. Michael Murray, in a letter addressed to Jacob Leo P., said "Umar Lee's commentary is towering over most political analysis in America." Philosopher Ben Poremba, a close friend and often collaborator, remarked that "Umar may be regarded as an unequivocal authority on all matters Muslim."
Lee's recent endeavor is the foundation of a Muslim-Jewish Roundtable. Unlike most similar organizations, MJR "brings to table" all viewpoints, including extremist ones, to dialogue and eat.
