Update - much better. I do feel the present update shapes up well actually. At least now it manages to accomodate the concerns of both admirers and sceptics as well as colouring people's perception of said institution.

Mickey Mouse degrees do not exist. It is a dysphemism created by tabloids and promoted by those with an agenda for maintaining social distinctions. "Less prestigious subjects" is a more sophisticated, NPOV way of expressing the phenomenon. The JPS 20:08, 2 August 2005 (UTC)
Good work JPS, lets keep this as 'encyclopediac' fare rather than submitting to the abuse of plainly derogatory one-sidedness. As there is no 'policing' system we have to be open to those articles with vulnerabilities, of which there are many.

(I'm posting this to all articles on UK universities as so far discussion hasn't really taken off on Wikipedia:WikiProject Universities.)
There needs to be a broader convention about which university rankings to include in articles. Currently it seems most pages are listing primarily those that show the institution at its best (or worst in a few cases). See Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Universities#University ratings.
