[edit] Criticism of 1337
- This criticism of users who are native speakers of 1337 really ought to be removed on grounds of failing to be on a NPOV. l33t hackers have rights too! Niffweed17 04:17, 6 November 2005 (UTC)
- Eh, who cares if it's POV? This isn't used in the wikipedia namespace. l33t hackers can be made fun of all anybody cares to. Ethan (talk) 23:38, 21 November 2005 (UTC)
- I'm still adding it as NPOV. Jeoh 11:01, 13 December 2005 (UTC)
- And we don't just delete it, why? --Veemonkamiya 01:24, 19 December 2005 (UTC)
- I think that it is hilarious! It shouldn't be removed at all. For me, the 1337 "critcism" is a very good example of Wikipedia humor (Like the Bad Jokes and Other Deleted Nonsense page). I agree with Ethan, WHO CARES if it is POV? It's 1337, it is strange, not many people speak it, and if anything, it is the POV of all sane people on the planet. Please keep it.--Energysword 17:10, 20 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] ".-" == "R"?
+|-|15 v53.- 15 4 /\/471\/3 5p34k3.- 0f 1337.
Since when does ".-" translate to "R" from leet? Shouldn't this template actually be written in leet? say,
+|-|15 v53|2 15 4 /\/471\/3 5p34k3|2 0f 1337.

- There are many dialects of 1337, and we must be tolerant! I've seen both .- and 2 used. Lord Bob 01:44, 22 November 2005 (UTC)
-
- But |2 actually looks vaguely like an R. what does .- look like? It's not listed as anything to do with R/r at leet.
- I guess you could sort of argue that it looks like a lowercase r. Vaguely.. it seems to me like a stretch, even for something like 1337, which is arguably a stretch to begin with. -Ethan (talk) 21:55, 22 November 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Big Stick?
The statement that "...whoever raised them on 1337 should be arrested and/or beaten with a large stick" seems a little unilateral to me and I propose that we modify it to "...whoever raised them on 1337 should be arrested and/or beaten with a (moderately) large stick." Any opposed? V-Man737 11:24, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
