Václav "Vinny" Prospal (born February 17, 1975 in České Budějovice, Czechoslovakia) is a professional ice hockey left winger currently playing for the Tampa Bay Lightning of the NHL.

He was drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 1993 NHL Entry Draft, Third Round, Seventy-First Overall. He has previously played for the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, Florida Panthers, Ottawa Senators and Philadelphia Flyers. While with the Philadelphia Flyers, Prospal suffered a fractured arm during the 1995-1996 playoffs. Prospal and another player collided during the Philadelphia Flyers practice session. During the 1996-1997 season, Prospal, who was named to the 1996 Czech Olympic Hockey Team, broke his leg while fighting for the puck with Lance Pitlick during a game with the Ottawa Senators; Prospal was unable to play in the 1996 Winter Olympics. Ironically, Prospal was traded to the Ottawa Senators a few months later. During the lockout, Prospal played for the Ceske Budejovice hockey team, leading them in scoring and helping the team reach the Czech Extraliga.

Although it is not widely knowledgable, Prospal's last name has a humorous significane in the Czech language, its proper pronounciation pṝospăl means "He overslept".

Scored the first hat trick for the Philadelphia Phantoms. He assisted on Dave Andreychuk's 600th career NHL goal, as well as Alexandre Svitov's first NHL goal, in the same season.
