Valeron
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Valeron is a brand of high-density polyethylene or plastic film that is extremely strong yet very thin. The name is a registered trademark of Illinois Tool Works Inc. (NYSE: ITW) of Glenview, Illinois. Valeron Strength Films is also the name of the ITW division which manufactures the material in Houston, Texas and Essen, Belgium. The material is strong; it is very difficult to tear even when nicked but can easily be cut with scissors or any other sharp object. The material is thin yet strong and so lends itself to a variety of high performance applications: chemical packaging, tags, labels, wristbands, security packaging. It is also used as a component of building products including self-adhering roof underlayment, flexible flashing tapes, housewrap and vertical drainage barriers that can help prevent mold in wall cavities.
