Valhalla is referenced in a variety of video games. The mention is not usually literal, but provides significant related elements to the story or setting.
- Valhalla is a heaven-like area in the MMORPG "Ragnarok Online" where high level characters are led to Valhalla via "The Book of Ymir."[1] In Valhalla, players "transcend" their characters into their highest attainable and most powerful forms.
- Valhalla is a Halo 3 multiplayer level set in a canyon.
- Also in the game Valkyrie Profile, Valhalla, the kingdom of the gods, is part of the plot. In Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria, Valhalla itself is an explorable dungeon, resembling a grand castle where different Aesir guards are fought.
- Valhalla, also called Beyond the Pale, is an astral plane to which characters ascend after beating the Naughty Sorceress and freeing King Ralph XI in the online game Kingdom of Loathing.
- The Valhalla Project is transcendental to the plot in Max Payne.
- Valhalla is an ice world in the tabletop game Warhammer 40,000, in possession of the humans of the Imperium.
- Valhalla is the battlepoint of the 'greatest warriors of all time and space' in the tabletop game, Heroscape.
- Valhalla is the homeworld of the hidden Viking character Olaf in the video game Rock N' Roll Racing.

- A number of bands have used the concept of Valhalla as inspiration or subject material, including 30 Seconds to Mars, Blind Guardian,Ensiferum Manowar, Amon Amarth, Iron Maiden, Led Zeppelin, Jethro Tull, Motörhead, K-os, 3 Inches Of Blood, and Elton John has a song called Come to Valhalla on his first album Empty Sky. On their cd Freedom What Freedom, Skrewdriver has a ballad called "Epilouge - The Road To Valhalla. However, this song was originally written and performed by the 1980s band White Lion on their album Fight to Survive. Black Sabbath's 1990 album, Tyr, features the song "Vahalla". Also, on Pantera's self released album called I Am the Night there is a song called Valhalla.

- In the anime Saint Seiya, the five bronze Saints head for the palace of Valhalla to release Polaris Hilda from the spell of the Nibelung ring
- In an episode of the Adult Swim show Metalocalypse, "The Metalocalypse Has Begun," Dethklok members Skwisgaar Skwigelf, a Swede, and Toki Wartooth, a Norwegian, are about to meet their doom when Skwisgaar says he will meet Toki in Valhalla.
- In an episode of the Cartoon Network show The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, Billy is mistakenly sent to Valhalla, while the Viking he replaced ravages his house.
