Vincenzo Campi
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Vincenzo Campi (* 1530, 1535 or 1536 in Cremona; † 3 October 1591 ebda.) was an Italian painter, architect, engraver and draughtsman. Vincenzo Campi was a pupil of his brother Giulio and son of Galeazzo Campi. He was an untiring companion to his brothers, whom he nearly equals in colouring, however he strives to match them in drawing. Vincenzo was better at creating small figures rather than large ones. He painted mainly saints and portraits as well as still-lifes. His two paintings at Brera, Milan of fruit and fishmongers suggest that he was influenced by Pieter Aertsen.
