Vista Verde Middle School is a year-round, K-8 school in Irvine, California that is part of the Irvine Unified School District. Its former location was in theUniversity Park neighborhood. Currently, Vista Verde is located in Turtle Ridge, and is still currently not a neighborhood school; rather, it is open to all residents with a preference for Turtle Ridge residents. Vista Verde is a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence.

[edit] Standardized Testing (2005)
Vista Verde achieved a score of 915 on the API base score in 2005, on a scale of 200 to 1000. Vista Verde has a history of being well ahead of the other IUSD schools in Standardized Testing. [1]

[edit] Academic Pentathlon
Vista Verde was awarded first place out of 24 Orange County schools in the 2006 Orange County Academic Pentathlon in the Super Quiz and Overall Team Award for eighth-graders. Vista Verde was awarded third place for the seventh grade Super Quiz and fifth place for the seventh grade Overall Team Award. [2]

In early 2006, the Vista Verde Symphonic Orchestra and Symphonic Band both got two "excellent's" and one "superior" in the annual IUSD musical festival. It was the first time both musical groups received a superior.
