Vitapup

Vitapup was a rock band from New York City consisting of guitarist Greg Griffith, drummer Melissa York, and bassist/vocalist Raphael Heatley. The band was broadly categorized as punk rock but featured elements of jazz, hip hop and spoken word.
The band released one album, "An Hour With Vitapup", in 1996.
York later appeared in Team Dresch and The Butchies. Griffith produced or engineered a number of independent releases including several by The Butchies. Heatley and his wife later formed the alternative hip-hop group Apsci.
The City of Portland Oregon's famous punk rocker, Noise Control Officer, and noted bassist PVO - also known as Paul van Orden played a number of shows on the Lower East Side on Sax with his ex wife and original Riot Grrrl Beatrix Souza singing back up vocals. PVO also played in Whale and several gigs sitting in on bass for CBGB's regulars in the late 80's HArdcore scene.
