Vladimir Virchis

Vladimir Virchis, born August 18, 1973 in Kakhovka, Ukraine, is an Ukrainian boxer and is a touted prospect in the heavyweight division.
Known as "The Hunter", the large and powerful Virchis turned pro in 1999 and won his first 20 bouts with 17 knockouts, including victories over clubfighters Julius Francis, Cliff Couser, and Michael Sprott (controversial decision).
In 2003 he KOd once beaten Taras Bidenko after being badly outboxed with his trademark right.
His career was sidetracked in 2006 when he faced undefeated amateur star Ruslan Chagaev and lost a controversial majority decision.
He rebounded by KO'ing European champion Paolo Vidoz later in the year, once more with a big right hand.
