Vyatta

Vyatta manufacturers open source software routers and firewalls. A free download of Vyatta's product has been available since March 2006. In essence, their main product is a Linux distribution with specialized networking applications and functionality, and management interfaces for those applications. Commercial engagements are via a software subscription-based business model which includes software updates and technical support.
Their product is intended and marketed as a replacement for Cisco IOS routers, with a strong emphasis on cost and the flexibility inherent in an open source, Linux-based system.
Vyatta partially funds XORP.
