[edit] About
Walled Lake Northern (WLN) is a public high school in the Walled Lake Consolidated School District. Construction was completed in April, 2003 by TMP Associates, Inc. at a cost of $67.5 million.
The school contains state-of-the-art academic, athletic, technological, and performing arts facilities. The academic wings of the achool surround the media center, and follow a loop pattern for easy navigation. The school has main and auxilary gyms, an olympic size swimming pool, and an indoor track. The football field contains a 3,000+ seat home grandstand, 2 concession stands, and a Fieldturf football field. The track is a full quarter mile, and is set away from the football field to allow for the extended length.
The fine and performing arts wing of the school contains 2 computer labs (1 CAD, 1 Cisco/Networking), 2 art rooms, and a technology lab. One of the art rooms contains a kiln and a "dark room". The band and orchestra rooms have full sound systems, projector screens, and fully acoustic design implemented in the ceilings and walls. The choir room, smaller than the band and orchestra rooms, contains these same amenities on a smaller scale.
