As you can see by the links at the bottom
I have spent a tremendous amount of time
studying dogparks all over the country.
These parks can end up being a dangerous muddy
mess when they are not planned properly.
Please consider requiring some minumum
standards before approving matching grants
for dogparks.
1) Electronic access cards at the entrance
of PUBLIC dogparks are becoming very common
in some areas of the country and the
unintended consequence is that it makes
dogparks MUCH safer.
2) All dogparks need to have 3 enclosures.
2 for large dogowners and approx 1/5 of
the total space for a third enclosure
for small and tiny dogs uptoa maximum
of 1/2 acre.

That's me and my posse above.
I have 2 small dogs but I know that
dedicating more than 1/2 acre to small
and tiny dogs is a waste of space.
Most serious incidents involve large dogs
and this 3-area configuration allows
large dog owners and/or dogs that can't
get along to use seperate areas and
settle their own disputes.
New Dogparks with 3 enclosures are already
becoming nuch more common than parks with 1
enclosure. But it takes up too much of my
time contacting public officials and offering
them this advice one towna at a time.
There are other ways to improve these parks
as well.
I've already, done the research if you have any questions.

We have a large group of dogpark advocates
in the group above who would be VERY interested
in any decisions you make.
