"Whipping" is a song by the band Pearl Jam that appears on their 1994 album, Vitalogy. The song was originally written during the sessions for Pearl Jam's 1993 album Vs., however the band decided not to include it on that album. The song was played throughout Pearl Jam's 1993-1994 Vs. Tour before it was included on Vitalogy.
In the liner notes of Vitalogy the lyrics to "Whipping" are written on a copy of a petition to Bill Clinton against Pro-Life killings of abortionists. The letter references the murder of David Gunn, a Florida physician who specialized in OB/GYN.
