Mixed Martial Arts article improvement drive is part of the WikiProject on Mixed Martial Arts and is a periodic collaboration to improve mixed martial arts articles to featured article status. Past collaborations are found on the history page, while removed nominations may be found on the removed nominations page. Previous winners that have gone on to become featured articles can be found at Featured collaborations.
Nomination and voting
Articles to be improved can be nominated by registered users in the "nominations" section below, with an explanation of what work is needed. To nominate an article, you can copy the template that you will below. Please do not nominate articles involved in edit wars. At the end of a voting period, the article with the most support votes is chosen. Opposing votes are not counted, the nomination is an approval voting. In case of a tie, the candidate that was nominated first wins. You can vote for as many articles as you like. As with any other vote on Wikipedia, sockpuppets are banned.
Renominating
An article that is removed from the nominations list for failing to receive the required number of votes by the stipulated date cannot be renominated in the following nomination period. It will also be displayed on the current removed nominations page.

Considerations for nominations
- Giving reasons as to why an article should become the MMA AID may convince others to cast their vote.
- Can the wider MMA/fightsports community easily contribute to the article? Or is it something only a small number of people will know about?

- The next project article is to be selected on December 31, 2006. Last votes tallied at 23:59 (UTC).
Randy Couture and Joachim Hansen failed to garner enough nominations within the alloted time and, as a result, cannot be renominated in this voting cycle.

[edit] PRIDE Fighting Championships
- Nominated December 21, 2006; needs at least 3 votes by December 28, 2006
Reason: PRIDE is considered the world's biggest promotion and the article is in a shockingly terrible state. People do their best and try to make changes but a rapid and expansive overhaul is in order and that can only be done through a collaborative effort. So many people are passionate about this promotion and there is a wealth of sourceable information.

Reason: This is a new event and it needs some support to get this page going. I've added as much info as I can, but I'm not that great at the formatting or getting it added to categories. If you need to have your heartstrings tugged, part of the proceeds of the WCL go to charity. Check it out!!

[edit] How to nominate an article
To add a new nomination, please:
- (1) Copy the template below
- (2) Paste it at the bottom of the list of nominations
- (3) Replace "day" with the correct date and "day + 7" with the date, plus seven days.
- (4) Sign your user name with the directions in the template and add a comment for why the article should be nominated.
- (5) Please preview your addition to make it sure all information is properly filled in and the links are working.
After nominating an article please place {{MMADrive}} on the article's talk page.
