Talk:Wildwood Christian School
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Unfortunately, it seems that articles about schools in the United States are not notable unless they are fictional schools. Jecowa 05:12, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
You may want to look at the proposed policies/guidelines for school articles: WP:SCHOOLS and WP:SCHOOLS3. Frexes 06:40, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
i understand teh criteria for deletion and i know that at the moment this artical is a complete waist of wiki space. i'm asking that it remain un-tagged for deletion untill the ninth. if on the ninth it is still an onvius candadit for deletion i'll personaly re-add the prod. 5 days isn't too much to ask for is it?J.L.Main 06:39, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
those last two edits by a ananamis editor where mine. wikipedia signed me out in the middle of the edit. i'll contact someother people who may be interested in editing this artical. i'll also try and track down some refrences.J.L.Main 08:00, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
- A prod normally allows five days before any action is taken, but if you feel longer is needed, then removing it is fine. What you have added certainly makes the article more complete, but it reads like an advertisement. Remember, Wikipedia is an encylopedia: please read WP:NPOV and WP:NOT#SOAPBOX. You should back up any claims about how school productions were received with references. In fact, if you could reference significant non-trivial local media coverage of "Shakespeare in a Week" then that would probably be good a good criterion for notability. Also, quotes by students etc. should be avoided, unless you can back them up with references. You should read WP:CITE. Good luck! Frexes 16:24, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
- Also, non-notable comments should be excluded, such as where plays will be held etc. Furthermore, it's best to stick to mainly timeless facts, rather than things about current crazes, and the impending return of students. When I have time, I'll remove/edit all the pov/unencylopedic comments, if they haven't been removed already. Frexes 16:37, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
i admit to being extremely bias conserning the school. i e-mailed a number of people last night who might be interested in editing the artical, hopefully one of them will be able to balance out my bias. also i'll do my best to find an artical on SIAW. i spent a little bit of time on it yesterday but not much. i'm close to posative it does exist. if worse comes to worse i'll e-mail a bunch of news groups in the area and provide their articals after this years production. Mr. Baker really dislikes news groups so the school hasn't received anywhere near the coverage it should have. J.L.Main 20:20, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
I have commented out the proposed deletion template above, as its presence on this Talk page still registers on Category:Proposed deletion as of 4 December 2006, and therefore does nothing to prolong the deletion process. --RoninBKETC 10:18, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
