William Greene (Rhode Island governor)

William Greene (1731 - 1809 was the second governor of Rhode Island after it became a state. His father, William Greene, had served as governor when Rhode Island was still a British colony.
Greene served as governor from 1778 to 1786, following Nicholas Cooke.
