[edit] Other "Xfire" name uses
Google gives me a few more "Xfire" websites than just the IM client and the Web Application Management tool from Xaffire, Inc. mentioned at the top. Is it needed to add more disambiguation links, or even to create a whole disambiguation page? If not, is the Xaffire link needed, as that doesn't seem "fair" to the other Xfire websites/products/whatnot. Retodon8 01:44, 17 December 2005 (UTC)
- Perhaps, if the other mentions are notable, we can make another page and say "for other uses of the name Xfire, see Xfire (disambiguation)" — Ilγαηερ (Tαlκ) 01:46, 17 December 2005 (UTC)
- I agree, this article is probably what people are looking for when they type "Xfire", so your solution sounds right. However, I personally don't know what other "xfire" stuff is notable, including the Xaffire thing. I suppose we could just wait, although I'm still not sure the Xaffire link should remain, especially since the article doesn't even exist (yet). Retodon8 03:08, 17 December 2005 (UTC)
- Another XFire stuff is http://xfire.codehaus.org/ Yurez 22:37, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Delete "Xfire (computer game)" redirect
Why does it have this redirect "Xfire (computer game)", it's not a computer game, that's very far from what xfire is, so this should be changed.--Dp462090 22:29, 17 March 2006 (UTC)
- I agree, the redirect is useless; nobody will ever type "Xfire (computer game)" looking for an instant messenger, and the redirect article only makes searching more difficult. You can submit a deletion request yourself; Wikipedia:Redirects for deletion/Header. Retodon8 15:49, 19 March 2006 (UTC)
- No, X-fire used to be a game, it's has nothing to do with this, it simply has the same name. X-fire should redirect to this article instead though. --Trusader 01:07, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Revenue
How does something like this make money for Viacom?
- Banner advertisements at the top. --Trusader 01:08, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Windows 98 Support
I have herd that Xfire has dropped support for Windows 98? Does anyone know for sure, if so the infobox would need to be updated. Credema 06:09, 23 July 2006 (UTC)
- Support has been dropped as of January 2007, so I updated the appropriate areas. Varsindarkin 08:31, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Mac Support
There is a Mac client called Xblaze. Should Xfire still be in the "Windows-only intstant messengers" category? --Njk 23:03, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] PS3 version?
Apparently there are talks of Xfire being used in Untold Legends:Dark kingdom on PS3, should this be mentioned?

[edit] Adding information in wrong places
Please stop adding information to the article that does not belong in certain sections. Particularly, the information stated about XBlaze. XBlaze does not have to do with the technology of how Xfire works. Please file it under the User Extensions catagory. Also, please take note that the article is about Xfire's client and protocol.
[edit] Xfire Distributed With D-Link's Routers
Would the info mentioned in "Xfire Distributed With D-Link's Routers" be relevant enough to mention? Retodon8 13:10, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] pronunciation
The correct pronuntiation of Xfire is ex- fire, as shown on X-fire help home page(at top of the page) --Robin63 21:18, 10 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Info Box (MTV)
At the bottom of the box is information such as stuff about Viacom, ect. However there is a whole thing about MTV. Listings of different MTV channels and so on. I have no idea what this is doing on the X-fire page, and I suspect it is spam. Howver I wanted to make sure there wasn't a good reason for having it there, (Although I can't see why there would be) before delting that part, just incase someone was not spamming, I will probably delete this part in a few days, unless anyone has anything to say about it? --Robin63 01:32, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Xfire SDK
[edit] game compatibility
make sure that when you edit this article for features supported in-game, you use correct examples, i.e. World of Warcraft is not supported by the instant joining feature. Kyle 15:03, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
