Yongmudo
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Yongmudo (용무도) - is a martial arts invented by field experts and professors of Yong-In University, a school specializing in the education of martial arts and sports since 1953. While originally developed as Hapkido, it was difficult to consider it as a Korean martial art as it is widely practiced in Japan as "Aikido." As such, it was redeveloped combining the techniques of Taekwondo, Hapkido, Yudo (or Judo), Fencing and Ssireum at Yong-In University. It was devised over two years by professors and former gold medalists of Judo, Fencing, martial arts, Taekwondo, and self-defense.
Yongmudo is considered a third generation martial arts; the first being one of action, the second of mental endurance, and the third a combination of the two. (this article was rewritten courtesy of this article)
