Yumegari is some novel chapters written by Ageha Ohkawa and illustrated by Mokona, both of the Japanese manga group Clamp. It was serialized in Japan by Shōsetsu Asuka magazine in April 1996. The project has been dropped and is no longer in continutation.
The story revolves around Tatsumi Houjyou, a seventeen year old girl and heir to a clan of Yumegari (dream hunters). The mission of Yumegari are to investigate the dreams of others and actively participate in them if necessary (similar to lucid dreaming). A Yumegari is bound by fate to a Yumemori, one who watches the dreams of a Yumegari and prevents them from falling into an eternal sleep.
When the preceding Yumegari and Yumemori, Tatsumi's mother and father respectively, both succumb to a particular dream, Tatsumi inherits the job. Tatsumi sets off for Tokyo soon after to find her Yumemori, Kyousuke Kaga, a twenty-eight year old novelist. Tatsumi takes up residence with him so the two of them will be able to better understand one another or otherwise run the risk of succumbing to dreams like Tatsumi's parents. Despite the warnings from her clan about Kyousuke, Tatsumi continues to work with him, fulfilling her dangerous and uncertain role as a Yumegari.
The chapters of the unfinished Yumegari novel had been also published in the Clamp Gakuen Denki Bunko vol.1.
