ZeroC, Inc. is a company based in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida revolving around the development and licencing of the Internet Communications Engine, or ICE, an object middleware system which is fast becoming a popular, high-performance alternative to CORBA and SOAP. It's also notable for employing several high-profile developers, including Michi Henning, a major contributor to CORBA and author of "Advanced CORBA Programming with C++".
ZeroC licenses ICE under a dual-licensing scheme under the GNU General Public License and a commercial license.
