Zvjezdan Misimović (born June 5, 1982 in Munich, Germany) is a Bosnian football player. Currently, Misimović is the captain of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team. His parents are Bosnian Serbs from Bosanska Gradiška.
Misimović has played for FC Bayern Munich in the past, but since the start of the 2004/2005 season, he has been playing for VfL Bochum.
The Bosnian midfielder will switch Bundesliga clubs in July, without a doubt one of the best creative midfielders in the Bundesliga at the very moment. With 5 goals and 7 assists in 15 matches in the current season, he is the second best offensive midfielder, behind Werder Bremen's 12 times capped Brazilian international Diego (8 goals / 10 assists). Nicknamed "Zwetschke" (transl.: "plum") in Bochum, the 24 year old will move without a compensation fee to Nürnberg, as his contract with VFL expires this summer.
Mismiovic said in an interview: "For me 1.FC Nürnberg is a very interesting club with a very young team, that has many future perspectives. It really fits well."
