Stephen Chow

Stephen Chow (Chino Tradicional: 周星馳; Chino Simplificado: 周星驰; pinyin: Zhōu Xīngchí) nació el 22 de junio de 1962 en Hong Kong. Es un popular actor y director, experto sobre todo en el campo de la comedia. Fue nombrado el Rey de la comedia por los medios de entretenimiento de Hong Kong.

Empezó su carrera en la escuela de actores de Shaw Brothers TVB. Más adelante participó en el programa infantil 430 Shuttle, en donde él era el personaje llamado Vampiro Negro y Blanco. Realizó películas con roles dramáticos, en películas como Just Heroes, Unmatchable match, Thunder cops 2, y Dragon Fight. Pero no fue hasta 1990 con All for the winner cuando se convertió exclusivamente en actor de comedia.
En 1994 en escribió y dirigió algunas películas. Ocasionalmente, Chow rompe los moldes con alguna película seria como A Chinese Odyssey (1994). Su más recientes películas basadas en comedia de acción y efectos especiales son internacionalmente conocidas. Éstas son Shaolin Soccer (2001) y Kung Fu Sion (2004).
